SHERYL KEPPING

VMD, EMERGENCY VETERINARIAN
Sheryl Kepping, VMD, wanted to pursue veterinary medicine as a career as a young girl growing up in northeastern Pennsylvania. She was drawn to helping animals, solving problems and helping people. Veterinary medicine was a perfect fit.

She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 at Cornell University. Her Animal Science major was the perfect foundation for vet school; in 2008, she earned her Veterinary Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Her next stop was Paramus, New Jersey where she completed a small animal rotating internship at Oradell Animal Hospital.

She and her boyfriend moved to Boise in 2011. They were initially drawn to the beautiful countryside, quick access to outdoor recreation, and small-town feel—and Sheryl tells us they love it here.

When we asked her what the most rewarding part of the job is to her, she told us, “The satisfaction of knowing that I use my skills and knowledge to the best of my abilities and improve the quality of lives for animals and their owners. My favorite moment is watching an owner’s reaction when they are able to take a healthy per home, and knowing that I helped make that possible.”

Dr. Kepping enjoys hiking, mountain biking, camping, downhill skiing, riding horses, white water rafting, and traveling. When she’s not out and about, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her cat and mischievous and lovable husky.
