Kathryn (Kate) D. Strait, DVM, is a Specialty Intern in Veterinary Surgery at WestVet Boise, where she has been a part of the team since 2023.

Dr. Strait attended the University of Virginia where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a minor in Bioethics. She then earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Strait has a special interest in animal welfare, ethics, and oncology. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping people by helping their pets.

When away from the hospital, Dr. Kathryn Strait enjoys crocheting, knitting, weightlifting, reading, and puzzles.
