VETERINARY EMERGENCY SERVICES
We are pleased to announce that the Animal Emergency Center (AEC) is now known as WestVet Northern Utah. The Animal Emergency Center has provided emergency services to the northern Utah area for over 16 years. This new alliance will allow us to expand our services, while continuing to deliver the highest quality, most compassionate emergency and specialty veterinary care to our patients, clients, and referral partners in northern Utah, today and long into the future.
VETERINARY SURGICAL SERVICES

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Westvet Surgeons have undergone advanced training to offer less invasive surgical options, which include arthroscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy. These therapies are meant to reduce operative pain, improve visualization and better patient outcomes.
Additionally we use advanced imaging such as fluoroscopy to place orthopedic implants through tiny incisions in the skin. Similarly, advanced imaging is used in interventional procedures for stent placement in the tracheal, urethra and ureters.

WestVet surgeons offer state-of-the-art therapies including Cartilage grafting (OATS), regenerative medicine (platelet rich plasma, stem cell therapy), joint replacement, interventional procedures
Assuring your pet’s safety and comfort is a top priority. We utilize advanced patient monitoring with modern anesthetics to limit patient risk and provide a variety of pain management techniques, including:
- continuous rate intravenous infusions of pain medications
- local anesthetic nerve blocks
- epidural anesthesia
- pain patches
- oral medications
Following surgery, 24-hour doctor and nursing care, provided by our highly skilled emergency doctors and support team, ensures that recovering pets can have IV fluid support, tailored pain protocols, and nursing care.
VETERINARY CARDIOLOGY SERVICES
WestVet is pleased to offer the services of Dr. Jason Arndt, Board Certified Veterinary Cardiologist to the Northern Utah area.
Dr. Arndt will be available for onsite consultations and echocardiograms on the following days:
